Holes and snags in your garments can be made almost invisible with this delicate craft called “reweaving”.
This is also known as “french weaving” or “invisible weaving”. It can be done on most garments, and is most commonly done on wool and cashmere blends and knits, because of holes caused by insects. Holes can also be caused by cigarettes, getting snagged, or just accidently ripping the garment. Reweaving is a delicate skill that involves knolwedge of the different types of weave in a given fabric. There are different techniques used depending on the fabric and the size of the hole. Our weaver takes the same matching threads from the garment and weaves the thread back into the fabric using the exact same pattern so the hole is mended and the repaired area is “invisible”.
